It is apparent that the DAD owns shares in Berkshire Hathaway. I would suggest that the reviewer attend the meetings with DAD. I would suggest that the reviewer listen carefully during the 7 hours. I would suggest that the reviewer study the owner’s manual. I would suggest the reviewer highlight the owner’s manual. I would suggest that the reviewer prepare like they would teach from the owner’s manual. I would suggest that the reviewer obtain Alice Shroeder’s detailed analysis from Berkshire Hathaway “Float Based Method”. I would suggest that the reviewer read “The making of an American Captitalist” by Lowenstein. I would suggest that the reviewer bond with the DAD. I would suggest that the reviewer learn daily from the DAD. The DAD is a “wonderful and most relevant” DAD. I have owned Berkshire Hathaway shares since 1983. I have NEVER sold a shares since 2000. My better half and I attend the annual meeting and HAVE TOO MUCH FUN TO HARDLY EXPLAIN IN THIS SHORT REVIEW. I would suggest that I wish your DAD was my DAD. Suggest to your DAD to make his way to Gorat’s at 5 PM on Friday, April 30, 2010 via Ms Lori’s section. it would be FUN to meet DAD.

Longhorn Reviews – [Longhorn Review] The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life

PostHeaderIcon Warren Buffet : Dedication and Concentration

Author Alice Schroeder mentioned instead of a story that aptly describes the nature of personality Warren Buffet, when a friend of Warren Buffet was in the room of Mrs. Graham and was shocked to say the buffet a Picasso in the bathroom. Buffet told her he had seen there was shampoo in the room. Other stories deal with the power players such as Bill Gates and Akio Morita, in fact, Bill Gates still considered a soulmate of Warren Buffet.

Right book at the right time

The book The Snowball: Warren Buffett could not and the Business of Life arrived in the publication of the industry at a better time. His prediction that the derivatives were weapons of mass destruction was the big Bang and the most accurate prediction (prophecy, we must say) the global economic collapse. He was already on the dangers of government intervention and rescue of distressed banks by financial institutions.

Not a perfect book

The book is not without problems. The first point is that an authorized biography (you can not expect anything sensational) and the second is the length of the book – it’s just too long (but so is the life of Warren Buffet and his illustrious career). Despite these negative, is take the book and you will be forced to set aside some time for the book. The author of the book is a financial analyst Alice Schroeder, a self, so they know what they’re talking, as she writes the book.

The book The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life focuses on internal business processes going on in the brains of Warren Buffet. The basic principle is followed by Warren Buffet, the inner game of his scorecard, rather than to go to the gallery. Other Wall Street tycoons are violated when something went wrong for them, Warren Buffet is different and not fall prey to the trappings of wealth, even if he did all the money in the world. Even if he bought a private jet, he called the indefensible, which aptly describes the feeling that he is doing if he could go to buy. He is naive and proud (and intentionally) so. He eats Cherry Coke, hamburgers and fries. to invest his money rules are very simple, it avoids debt, and will remain on the market long-term investments.

Why only one Warren Buffett?

You may ask if this stuff is so simple, why is there only one Warren Buffet. The answer is – become Warren Buffet, you’re fiercely independent in spirit, and not be able to keep that mood all the time. He does not participate in the dot com boom because he does not understand how these companies have their business. Now we all know the hand that he was right.

Anyone can Stick to Basics

Surely someone could do that (at the basic stick), so why is there only one Warren Buffett? The answer is that the independence of a firm that other investors’ denies. It’s not that easy for economists to convince all the time. A group of economists came up with the efficient market hypothesis and they said, in theory, would Warren Buffet do not just exist. Their central belief was that individual investors can not consistently beat the market. The theory was modified when Buffet noted his eight other colleagues were doing equally well, as they were by the same teacher.

The Snowball – Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, by Alice Schroeder.

A few days ago I started reading this, and I have to say I really don’t want to stop reading it (all 800ish pages). I sort of expected an boring story about a person in something that is imagined to be a rather unexciting industry (investing).

Seriously I couldn’t have been more wrong.

This book is an amazing insight at the life of one of the greatest, most most amazingly brilliant people that history has seen, and it’s funny, sad, exciting – a whole range of unexpectedness. in case you don’t know, here we have a comprehensive look at the life of the most wealthy men in the world – Warren Buffett. During 2008 he was crowned king the worlds wealthiest man holding a worth of $62,000,000,000.

$62 FREAKING-BILLION!!!!!!!

OK, let’s take a closer look at that…

If I earn $10,000,000 every year (which isn’t too unpleasant) it would take to earn as much as this man. WOW. if I had started hording $10,000,000 per year since 1AD I would be about one third of having the wealth that this man has. Mind blowing.

OK now… I’ve calmed myself down enough to finish with this book review.

It’s hard to say just how great this is, what I can say is if you don’t have your book yet go order it right now

What really impressed me about this man is how he came from nowhere, he didn’t start with his parents fortune, in fact he actually started selling golf balls and delivering papers around town. Plus he didn’t even invent something new, what he did do was study harder, gain more skills, and work harder than anyone else before him. It just makes what this man has created more impressive.

The dedication and work ethic of this man is one of the most stand-out, take home lessons you will get from this if you really desire a truly amazing life you better be ready and willing to work your butt off.

What really stood out to me from this book? More than i have time to list here however what really spoke to me was…

1. if you wish to be successful knowledge is key, never EVER stop Learning.

2. Delaying gratification, in other words to what it takes now to have what you want later.

3. if you want long term success (and is there any other type) then you always need to stay completely honest, integrity is your biggest asset.

4. the next biggest assets will be the relationships you build, don’t ever forget that.

5. where you come from really doesn’t matter at all, where you begin doesn’t affect where you finish in life.

So I guess I should wind up this article. in closing I firmly recommend you study the Snowball. if you want to build a massively successful business then knowledge is going to be your main weapon, there are not many that have even come close have even approached close to Warren’s triumph, and I think he is one of the greatest to learn from.
